5 Types of Shoes That Should Be in Your Closet

Welcome back, y’all! It’s definitely been a minute since I last posted! I’m so excited to be putting out some new content for y’all to enjoy!

I am a total sucker for shoes. From booties to wedges to heels to flats…ugh! I love them all. Even though I admittedly might own too many shoes, I do have a pair of shoes for just about every occasion. In today’s post, I’ll outline the five types of shoes you should own in your closet, even if you own nothing else but the clothes on your back!

1. Booties

You simply must have a pair of booties in your closet. If you’re unfamiliar with the term, booties is another word for saying short boots. Booties typically stop at about your ankle or a little bit shorter.

Booties are perfect to wear in just about every season but in the summer, in my opinion. In the winter and fall, they can be paired with leggings and oversized sweaters, while in the springtime, they can be worn with airy spring dresses and flowy skirts.

Booties can be worn just about anywhere, from attending a wedding to heading to the office.

2. Wedges

Admittedly at first, I didn’t like the way wedges looked. I thought they were for people who could manage to walk in a straight line without tripping. In time I learned to love wedges for their versatility. They are perfect for causal and formal settings and look perfect when paired with any type of bottoms or tops.

3. Flats

When I first began wearing flats, all I would wear were those flats that resembled ballet slippers. While those kinds of flats are pretty cute, flats have grown up a bit since then! I love my loafer flats that I bought from Rue 21.

Business in the front and party in the back, ya know? Even if you don’t own loafer flats like these, regular flats are still perfect for a quick run to the grocery store or just for a simple walk to class.

4. Sandals

Typically reserved for warmer temperatures or warmer climates, no closet is complete without a pair of sandals. Whether they are flat, have a heel to them or loads of straps, a pair of sandals is essential.

When not worn at the beach, sandals are cute for a girls night out or a day trip out of town.

5. Knee High Boots

Finally, the last type of shoe you should have in your closet are without a doubt, knee high boots. They’re easy to keep your legs warm in the winter and hide your hairy legs if you’re too lazy to shave in the spring. Knee high boots are also obviously a fall staple. The only season I wouldn’t wear these in would be summer due to the heat.

Knee high boots, much like booties, can be worn for a variety of occasions. From attending a wedding to running errands, knee high boots of all styles and colors can easily fit in with your current wardrobe.

And that’s all! There are so many shoe types out there and it was super hard to narrow it down to just these five.

So tell me in the comments below, what are your favorite types of shoes?

Until next time,
