How to Dress a Blue Blazer

How to Dress a Blue Blazer

Welcome back y’all! So, I am a firm believer that people should wear blazers at any opportunity. Blazers aren’t just for job interviews and big meetings. I’ve been wanting to make a blog post on how to style a blazer but had been putting it off for weeks and weeks. Then I saw it.

A blue blazer aching, yearning for me to buy it in Goodwill. Okay, not really, but I saw a gorgeous blue blazer from Forever 21 in Goodwill a while back and decided that I had to have it. Ah, Goodwill, one of the many places I love finding my clothes…

After adding in a few other pieces that I wear literally all the time, I finally had an opportunity to make this post. Without further ado, here’s how you can style and dress up a blue blazer!

(Blazer: Goodwill, Shirt: Barefoot Campus Outfitters

Pants: DD’s Discounts, Shoes: Thrifted, Sunglasses: Wish)

Blazer, check. Skinny pants, check. Flats, check. As you can see, this outfit is not only comfortable but suitable for any professional or office setting! No collared shirt or dress pants here, though you can easily add that to your own outfit if you want to make it a bit more professional.

Like I mentioned before, the blazer is from Goodwill, but is originally from Forever 21. They’re currently out of similar styles of this blazer, but they do have plenty of other blazers that are striped, polka dotted and all of that.

My favorite thing about this entire outfit is my shirt, though.

T-shirt. Seriously, that’s all my t-shirt says. It’s so meta and I love it. Every time I wear it, I get compliments, along with my striped pants. Despite the bold color of this blazer, I am more of a muted/neutral clothing wearer.

Tans, browns, blacks, whites and so on. I’m a sucker for yellows and other bold colors on occasion.

Accessories

Dressing isn’t always about the clothes though. My accessories of choice for this outfit was a choker and a pair of silver mirrored sunglasses. Just two simple touches that make this outfit more casual than business like!

Ugh, I so deserve my own office…

But that’s all for now. If you take away nothing else from this post, just know that you don’t always have to have skinny dress pants in order to rock a blazer!
