My First Shopping Haul

Welcome back! So, if you’ve ever taken a look at some of my outfits on my Instagram or the what I posted for my very first blog post, you’ll know that I’m no stranger to fashion. I love bright and bold prints, but also muted and neutral colors. If I had to describe my fashion style, I’d definitely call it trendy vintage. These two words fit the pieces I picked up during my latest shopping trip to a T!

The shopping haul

My most recent shopping trip was dedicated to finding something to wear to a friend’s Christmas party. Any guesses to what I ended up wearing? Here’s a hint–it’s shiny, metallic and pinkish all over.

If you guessed these gorgeous metallic pair of pants, you’re right. I grabbed these for just $15.00 from Charlotte Russe, normally $26.99.

These pair perfectly with booties, like the ones pictured above that I bought at Kohl’s for $19.99 on Black Friday. Be warned, the velvet from the pants does rub off on whatever it comes in contact with, but I think for the shine and how beautiful these pants look, it’s worth the sacrifice.

Below is a picture from Charlotte Russe’s website on how they look on a 5’9″ model, but I think this 5’4″ girl did them justice too.

Plato’s woes

The rest of my haul came from Plato’s Closet, which I have always mixed feelings about. I went to Plato’s Closet to sell some of my clothing and I walked out with three great pieces to add to my wardrobe, but also with a majority of the clothing that I had brought in.

For those of you unfamiliar with Plato’s Closet, the store is catered to teens and young adults and offers fashions from labels like Forever 21 and American Eagle. You can buy and sell clothing to Plato’s Closet and get cash in exchange for selling.

There have been numerous complaints about how the store decides to buy your clothing. Sometimes it’s because they have too much of a particular brand or item, or because that particular article of clothing or brand doesn’t sell well at that location.

My cash earnings are always hit and miss, but I do try to take certain brands and labels to one location because I know they’re more likely to take them there versus others. With my earnings, though, I was able to grab three pieces from Zara, Forever 21 and H&M, respectively.

The haul, continued

This cute grey sweater from Forever 21 was the perfect addition to my closet. Winter is fast approaching and with it (hopefully, Georgia weather can be so unpredictable) cooler temperatures. I’ll be trying to layer more this season and this sweater will be great to wear with my long cardigans and jeans.

Speaking of jeans, let me move on to my next piece: ankle crop jeans from H&M. They’re from their Conscious line, which is dedicated to sustainability. Light colored jeans are perfect for the numerous oversized sweaters and booties I’ll be wearing this winter.

Finally, it seems I can’t get away from metallic with my last piece, these gold metallic crop pants from Zara.

With side slits giving me to opportunity to show off my amazing calves, be on the look out for these babies to make an appearance around New Years’.

That’s it for my first shopping haul, folks! What have you picked up lately while out and about? Let me know in the comments below!

Until next time,
